Probably, if it's needed to fit the engine in the engine compartment. Which is my assumption, but heckifino on that. You definetly wouldn't need it for tire clearence issues, the axle gets moved forward placing the wheels more central in the wheel wells, allowing them more room to move around.

WHAT?????? Is the problem the funds or the 2" body lift or the SAS?? Were you drunk posting or what?

Yes you need a 2" body lift OR a hood scoop to clear the 3.4 plenum. The SAS doesn't do crap for clearance in your engine bay. A body lift cost like $120.. chump change if your doing a SAS and engine swap. Sounds like you have ALOT of homework to do before you start on this project.

You need to either do a 2" body lift or cut a hole in your hood to fit the 3.4. The clearance isn't for the oil pan or anything, the motor is simply taller than the 3.0. If you aren't crazy about paying for a body lift, I custom made mine and cost me about $35 using 2" sq tubing 3/16 wall and some hardware. I am making my own bumpers though so havn't worried about making spacers to bring the front bumper up to match.

Flygtenstein fit his 3.4 without a BL, but it's TIGHT and he's wearing the insulation off the hood in a hurry. I would definitely do a 1.5" or 2" BL while you're doing the SAS - will probably make some other things easier to work out too.
