Summer Service Special!
Hi All!
I was wondering if this was a good deal. My local Toyota Dealership is offering a Summer Service for $199.95 which includes: Oil change, Engine Air Filter Replacement, Coolant System Service drain and refill, and Transmission Service drain and refill. I was thinking of doing it myself but the price seems reasonable. Thanks. SPEX

Amsoil oil change and a decent filter is ~$40 and lasts 10K miles, a new air filter is maybe $20, new coolant is $10 and an hour of your time and JUST a transmission oil change is maybe $15 for the fluid. You're looking at less than $80 in materials/fluids, most of which being better than what they're going to be giving you.
If they're doing a flush, then it might be worth it. Flushing your transmission is messy and difficult, but you do get to pick the fluid you use, unlike the bulk crap you'll get at the dealer.
