From reading https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116/super-awesome-cupholder-mod-89-4rnr-97977/ it sounds like I can put almost any DIN standard (approx. 2.25" H X 7.5" W) drink holder in my center console under the radio. The referenced post used a 4G Golf/Jetta cup holder, but those seem pretty expensive on ebay ($80+, give or take). Has anyone got suggestions for other drink holders that would fit in the dash in this spot that work pretty well on a '88 pickup? Or should I just visit a few wreckers and see what they've got that's cheap, works, isn't too ugly and could be made to fit with minimal grinding / sanding? I saw a Taurus/Sable one advertised on ebay for a Saab that also looks like it could work, and it's a lot cheaper than the VW drink holder.

While I've got the center console apart, are there any replacement ash trays that would work (e.g., later model Toyota)? The metal hinge on my ash tray broke and it rattles when I go over bumps!
