Hi everybody !!!
My name is Facundo, and I am from Barcelona Spain.
I own a 92? V6 4Runner. Actually the toy is blue factory colored.
I want to do a nice new Fj cruiser yellow paint job ( well done ).
The question is: Is it possible to remove the rubber frame form rear side cargo window ??? I don?t want to tape the frame.
I saw on another post a guy that removed the complete window. It seemed to be hold with nuts and bolt from the inside, but also with poliurethan adhesive like a windshield. If i want to remove the window, I think I am going to brake it.
Any ideas or suggestions ???

no the window and the rubber frame comeout as one peice.

remove the interior pannels from the rear cargo area then unbolt the 10 or so bolts (gold color) from the window studs then pry and i mean pry the window out. its stuck with all that sticky black caulk. i left 2 bolts loosely attached so the window didnt fall onto the ground but it was stuck so good that i ended up pulling it from the outside and it took alot more than i thought

 

Love the color, reminds me of my 78 Toyota pickup when it was new.

I've heard of guys using a heat gun to loosen up the caulk to make removing the window easier.
And wow! Very nice Photoshop skills! How did you replace the colour like that? Very impressive work.
If your rig looks like that when you are finished it will be amazing! I really like the colour.

 

Definitely use the heat gun or at least park the truck in the sun to loosen up the adhesive. You can use rolled up duct tape to help get the adhesive off the frame.

Yeah !!! TC, David is a good friend of mine. He?s the Guru of the spanish forum. He also lives very near from me. Actually ,last weekend he was at my home, cause he wanted to mount my tires on his runner to take some ideas...
