Anyone repainted their interior?
Just curious how long it took. I've pulled all the dash panels out and started the painting. I had a blue interior. Now it's black. Almost finished. It's looking REALLY good. I made a bad decision starting at 3:00PM on Sunday.
Next weekend I'm going to pull all the carpet out and rhino line the interior floor. Build my subwoofer box. And build fiberglass door panels with 2 speaker pods in each door. Going completely custom!!! I'm hoping that finished product will be show quality. But I'm trying to make it somewhat practical. I'm going to lay the really soft outdoor carpet inside with a slit down the center so it can be removed when I'm out playing. When it's all finished I'll take some pictures. And that is just the interior. I replaced the shocks yesterday. Repainted my grill in "Cast Iron", and it looks AWESOME. Tomorrow I'm installing my new tie rods. And I'll probably be installing new ball joints and CV boots this week too. And as soon as I get my second tax return....I'm installing a front locker! I'm just a little busy with the truck!!!

Okay I will be the first to welcome you and make the cry for PICTURES. You can't just tease us all like that, it's just not fair. I can hear the sounds of everyone's mouths salivating at the thought of your rig and it's mods. Come on and share the joy. Make your self at home and stick around for awhile, enjoy, I'm sure you will.

I'm not going anywhere...... at least not far without a dash.
I'm driving my mom's Jeep tomorrow(she's on vacation). I don't have a digital camera..... I'm going to use the camera at work when the truck is drivable. So.... you should get a pic of the dash on Tuesday. I'm really bummed. I was going to do all the vents and inserts(around the guages and stereo) in the cast iron color... but it looked too weird. So I'll probably get some silver tomorrow for the inserts.
So if all goes well... You'll get dash pics, and some new exterior pics on tuesday.
And then Door, floor, sub box, oh yeah, and new seats!! J/K. Just new seat covers. I'm getting the snow camo seat covers. Then when I feel up to it, I'm going to slice open the seats and re-upholster the seats using snow camo print. I'm hoping to have one mean machine ready for this summer!!!

Sorry stump... there won't be pics.... It doesn't look that good. I'll have to redo it later. arg!!!! I'm just trying to get it all black. That way I can put it back in. This is sooooo irritating.

I wasn't trying to tease. Screw it... I'll take a pic of how horrible it looks tomorrow. I tried repairing a crack in my dash..... didn't work. I had one of those vinyl repair kits.... it is really crappy. I have a windshield repair kit by the same company.... crap... I'm starting to wonder about those, "do it yourself repair" things..... I am sooo freaking discouraged!!! I really want to get some aluminum and just create one of those lightweight custom dashes. I guess what I'll have to do is wait for a long weekend and sand the thing smooth. The texture is what is making this so hard. The paint is creating smooth spots. Anyways...... I always end up rambling.

I don't know if this'll help but I remember seeing one of those do-it-yourself bedliner kits that had a can of poly something and a rubber mat.
The idea being that you laid a heavy coat of gunk and then laid down the mat until it dried.... you have your texture!
Is that something that might help you?

My problem is that there IS texture. The dash is hard to paint because the paint will fill in the gaps and create smooth areas. As far as the bedliner kits go, I've got a can. I plan on doing the interior floor with it. Then I'm going to lay new carpet over it. The carpet is going to have a slit down the center so I can remove it when I go offroading.
