i dont think they have a 22re wich is a 2.4 in a 1999 tacoma
its like a 2.7( i dont know its name i think its 2ve but not sure) i heard good things about the 2.7
my freind has a 97 with the 2.7 it has plenty over power and gets around 20 mpg

yea, a 99 isn't gonna have a 22re, it'll have a 2.7....it's similar, but a little bigger and DOHC instead of SOHC.
