My truck currently has vinyl floors, which are nasty. I'm getting ready to buy a formed carpet kit for my 2nd gen pickup and I have some questions.

I noticed the vinyl goes under the shift plate should I install the carpet the same way?

How did the factory have it with carpet? Was it cut up to the shift boots and over the plate?

I noticed other trucks have a black plastic foot rest can I add this to my truck?

My truck has a bench seat and I just want my truck to be factory correct.
