Fan for heater for 89 4Runner not working?
i have an 89 4Runner SR5 3.0L and the fan for the heater isn't working
my first idea would be to check the fuse....which fuse it controls it and where is it?

The fuse is on the passenger side kick panel, high up behind the glove box. You might be able to reach it from underneath but it's easier if you take the glove box out. If I remember correctly you have to unbolt the hinges at the bottom.

does it work at any speed? Sometimes, if the resistor is faulty, you'll lose a couple of speeds. My fan switch only works on the 2 highest settings. I have a spare fan switch resistor ready to swap in though.

the fuse should be in the fuse panel located near the driver side kick panel. the blower motor resistor will be what you find behind the glove box area. if you get down below the glove box you sbould be able to replace the resistor or fan very easily.
if your fan works on higher speeds but not lower speeds, its the resistor. might as well check for power going into the fan. if it gets 12v then its the resistor.

so i checked out the fuse box near the driver side kick panel and there's no designated "fan" fuse...all the fuses were ok though
behind the glove box is a little one consisting of 2 fuses one for heater and the other for AC and a relay which seems to relay the on/off signal from the control panel...both those fuses were fine
the switch is working because i opened the relay and it's triggering it..so i assume now that its the fan.
is it located sort of below the middle dash enclosed in the ducting?
