I was out puting on my new tailgate today... So to check the wiring on my reverse lights... (3.0 auto 4x4 4Runner) So I turn the key to the On position, shift to reverse. Lights come on... Good.... Finish putting the tailgate togeter... Double check the wiring... Tanny shifts into reverse (same as above) No lights... OK... Double check tranny... Sift to park, turn key off. Turn key to ON, push in brake pedal, try to shift to revers - no go... no forward, nothing... I hit the shift overide and it goes no problem... Tranny works fine in drive forward and reverse. Hit ECT button - nothing, shift to 4x4 nothing, OD nothing... drive, second, first work fine... Anyone know why it won't shift out of park? I hope someone can help.... Thanks in advanced Larry...

 

So have you tried starting your 4runner and driving around, or are you just turning the key to on and doing this?

Yes I have driven it. I should have been clearer on that... The tranny works fine (except for no OD override, 4x4, or ECT)

 

Anyone?
