2nd gen 4runner w/22re?How many out there?

Since I have been weighing the options on my ragged 95 v6 4runner does any one have the same truck with a 4 pot?

Having owned 3 toyotas w/ 4 cyl I believe them to be superior. I drove a 92 2wd truck today with 245000 on the original equipment. The wheel bearings were replaced once, rotors twice and that's it!
The owner changed the oil on time and did a full tune up every 60000.

Anyone got a 2nd gen, with a 4 banger for sale?

I looked for 3 months before I bought my '92.. All the Toyota's I have owned have been 4 cylinder. They are very durable engines.

Love my 4cyl (not crazy about the auto) but only way my wife would let me get a 4Runner. The other two 4Runner's I had were both 4cyl and stick ('87 & '90).

Have little issue with my current one but don't want to admit it.
- Initial start 1-2 sec's no smoke
- white smoke till warms up (2-5min)
- No smoke when operating temp (except now it's -20C)

It's been like this since I bought it last March and hope it holds off till this march I'll do the headgasket. Keepin an eye on the rad fluid and oil... so far so good.

I have a 91 4 Runner with 259,470 miles on it, runs pretty good and uses a small amount of oil. I have only put the last 13,000miles on it myself. Did the timing chain, cover, water pump and oil pump myself about 2000 miles ago. Had the stealership do the cv boots about 10,000 miles ago. It does not have a lot of power but I'm not in a hurry so it really doesn't matter. I am really happy with it and I hope I can keep it running for a long time.

Supposedly in 95 they were 1:1000.. i had one and loved it.... little underpowered but around town it felt the same on 33's as my 91 v6 auto did on 31's.. on the hwy the v6 was a little better, but not much..

90' 22re 4runner

Here's mine. I've got 244k miles. I've had 2 other 22re trucks previous to this 4runner https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/3rd-gen-wheels-2nd-gen-4runner-80407/
