I have a 2wd 98 tacoma that needs a new bumper and fender. Do I have to get 2wd parts or can I fit 4wd parts?

with the bumper?? hes talking about a tacoma.

tacomas/prerunners or 4runners 4wd or 2wd are all the same with the front bumpers.

 

4x4 and prerunners are interchangeable in regards to rear and front bumpers. If you're referring to 4x4 and prerunners in comparison to 2wd minis then no they won't fit, depending on what years though.

 

Tacoma bumpers are not the same 2 (non-prerunner) to 4 wheel drive.

Pre Runner and and 4x4 ARE the same.

btw...a PreRunner IS a Tacoma.

Also, the 4Runner front bumpers are NOT the same as the Tacomas.

The original question was, is a 2wd Non-prerunner front bumper the same as a 4wd front bumper? And the simple answer to that is No.

 

I know they dont look the same, but the mounts are different as well? So I have to find a 2wd non-prerunner, non 4runner, front bumper. Thanks for the info.
BTW anyone have one laying around?

 

There was one year where the 2wd minis had the exact same front end as the 98-00 4x4/prerunners and that year was the year 2000.

 

I probablly misinterpreted my last statment, i ment between the two trucks

4runner 2wd bumpers are the same as 4runner 4wd, also with prerunner to 4x4 tacos.

and yeah you could fit a tacoma bumper on a 4runner, mild fab work but it works
