87 pickup regular cab Modified to x-tra cab using 90-94 rear windows.

Hi there ,here are some pics of a mod I did back in 96 when my 87 regular cab started to rust. We took the cab, off cut off the rear panel and fabricated it into a X-Tra cab. At the time back in South America we thought it was a great idea. I purchased a pair of 90-94 XtraCab windows and fabricated the cab around them using galvanized steel. The bed was shortened and the fenders flared out.The finished truck was a real head turner. It was sold back in 2000 when I moved up to Florida. The truck has since been rolled and smashed to bits by the new owner...SADDDDD!!!!...Hope you like it. Here are the before and after pics.

That is so sweet!I must say hat I'm envious of anyone with that level of fabricating skills!!! Oh the trouble I could get myself into just learning....

Great work!

I'd have never thought that the body lines would line up that well!

Very cool!
Kinda reminds me of the mid-late 80's "Custom Cabs" that were put out. My dad had one when I was growing up. Had a full back seat; man that thing was cool. It was the closest that the US market ever came to a double cab before 2001.

Wow that is truly brilliant what you did with that cab. It is also a shame to hear of such great work destroyed like it was.

We actually made the addition ourselves from sheet metal..all we used from the 90-94 model truck was the windows seals hinges and locks... and the front bumper of course.
