I was wondering if anybody got this throttle body and if it was worth it? For 300$ thats alot if it doesn't do much. Much increase in performance? Torque? Throttle response? Quicker feeling? How about power up hills?

 

Why don't you ask LC? Sometimes they have dyno results.

Course, you could always bolt on a 60mm TB for about $45 from a Mk3 supra.. Bolts right up, it's 2mm larger than the LC unit..
Things you need to do:
1) Port your existing plenum.. consider going to a later style upper, if your 4runner isn't newer than 1988.5.
2) You have to have some minor tabs welded to get it to work..

Heck of a lot cheaper than $300 through...

i was gona put a throtal body on my rig but when i posted on the sight the people smarter than me told that it would be a waste or time and money. They said that it didn't do really anything and "that they make great cup holders" but it is up to u. but if it were me i woulden't make the purchas expecially for 300$ they go for 40-120$ if your still gona get it go to http://www.airaid.comthey have good prices on things.

 

Bill, Air raid sells intakes, not TBs... The 58mm LC unit (DOA has one too) - built by the same 3rd party.
They're bored stock units, so they bolt in... Which is worth something. I've never seen one go for $120.

Do they make a difference? depends on where your air restriction is and how much air your setup can consume... I'd try one on a mod'd motor, but wouldn't expect much except for throttle response on a stock motor. I wouldn't have put a 60mm on mine if I thought they were worthless, but my motor likes air more than most...

 

like i said don't know much about tbs but everyone said they were worthless. does it make a diff to you, and was it worth it to you. Is there a diff between a throtal boddy spacer and a throtal spacer cuz my friend said he got a throtal spacer off ebay for 80$ is there a diff between the 2 if so please tell me so i can get my story stright

Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money on a TB spacer. I installed one an a Chevy 5.7 once and there was no noticable difference what so ever in performance. I did notice anout a 1/2 mile per gallon increase in mileage which was hardly worth the investment.

I find the overbored TB is a help at higher elevations. On my '85, I found that with the stock TB, I found engine power down above 4000' and with the larger bore, it'll hold to about 6-7000' before 5th gear is useless. At sea level, do not see a lot of difference, I could pull 0" Hg manifold pressure with either unit and not even at wide open throttle.
