Unhappy My "ACC" line is Dead...What to do?

I bought my 92 Pickup w/ a botched wiring design for the stereo; didn't really care because the stereo worked. When i tried plugging in my ipod fm transmitter into the cigarette lighter, i found that it was not hooked up. So stupid as i am i spliced off the ACC line to the stereo, to power the cigarette lighter. The stereo worked for 2 min after the splice then died. i checked, and sure enough i killed the acc line. i checked the fuses in the cab, and everything looked fine. How can i ressurect this line, or what line is safe to use instead? cigarette lighter would be nice to have to. Thanks for your brainpower!

Did you check just the stereo fuse? Sometimes different fues power different things. I have had dome lights go out when the cig fuse wa blown, even though the dome fuse was fine. I would say check all the fuses under the dash and under the hood. If it stil doesn't work check and see if the fuse on the back of the stereo is blown.

Good luck!

There is a fusible link behind the cig. lighter that can melt with high current loads:
