Can't get my upper bumpstops off

So I have a 91 4runner 4wd and I got some low pro bumpstops, and as I was installing them I realized I couldnt get the stock upper ones off because they hit the control arm before the bolt was all the way out. The only reason for this I can think of is the torsion bar is over cranked. The guy I bought it from cranked them so much that the suspension was bottoming out on the upper bumpstop, so I un-cranked them some, but is it normal to have troube getting off the bumpstops?

I assume you mean the droop stops. Try to have a couple people sit on the fender and see if that gives you enough room to sneak it out of there. Otherwise you will have to back off the torsion bars to do it.

use your bottle jack. turn it upside down, the bottom on the uca and the top on the lower bumpstop bracket. Watch your brakelines and your hands.

Just jack up one side at a time pushing up on the lower a-arm. Should be plenty to get the upper snubber out

i used to always have a buddy sit on the fender of the side i was working on. that seemed to make just enough room for it to sneak in and out.
