I'm trying to talk my buddy in VA that has a locked 80 series to go on this trip. But he needs some tires first, before he decides to go.

Looks like i'll get to be more than just a spectator this year since my truck SEEMS to at least run great sitting still. I haven't taken it above 10mph around my house yet but we shall see. I still have to get it legal before i take it out on any real roads. Stay tuned for a video on my engine rebuild thread once i get my new radiator fans in. They should get delivered by next week. The thing is so friggin loud, with the exhaust the way it is you can hear the turbo already at like 1800 rpms.

 

We've already added quite a few vendor sponors on the SE4RJ forum, so things are rolling along.

 

How would a stock 4runner do there?

 

Just depends...we've had several folks take stock rigs through but you are going to get scratched and possibly body damage.

You can always come and ride the trails with someone else.

You can ride trails, 4,5,6 and maybe 8 with a stock 4runner, but I wouldn't do it without getting sliders. A rear locker would be nice too, but we've had several people make it with only open diffs.

 

Rob got through fine through 4 5 6 and 8 with open open. just dont attempt slickrock.

Im about to pull trigger on a brand new 23 spline case here in a couple of minutes.. im tired of waiting to get parts.

so ill be locked rear 4wd and hopefully front too by then

 

i might be in this year. Depends on how things are going and if my dad doesnt mind going. Hopefully not this weekend but next weekend my lift is going on my truck so ill be good to go by june.
