Got back from dealer sqeeky belt noise solution here

well i went to the dealer and i saw my neighbor he is the service manager and as soon as i described the noise he knew what i was talking about. There seems to be a bolt that holds the pully, and when it is cold the bolt is just alittle to small and the pulley slips. So when it heats up it becomes the correct size and stops. He said they will have the new bolts in around 3 weeks from toyots to fix the problem. He said before they figured this out they were replacing the belts and found it was only a temporary fix.

Chris -

If you can, please mention this to your neighbor -- mine squeaks after it warms up! Basically, it's usually quiet when I start out, then a bumping noise, then a squeak.

On a recent trip to Dallas, after I had drivien 15 miles or so, it was of high enough pitch that I could hear it over the stereo. Downright annoying!

Thanks!

Same problem here. Belt squeak/chirp

Hey Chris,

Did you ever get that pulley bolt put in and did it resolve the squeak problem?

I have the exact same issue here in the morning, so they replaced the belt and sure enough 2 weeks later it's squeaking again intil it warms up.

BTW does your A/C compressor "chirp" when it engages every 30 seconds or so when the A/C is on? Could that be related to the bolt as well?
