Need help w/ 3.4 EVAP
re: 98 4runner engine (non-CA) in a 93 4 runner
No, no codes... I just have a routing question. I know where most of the lines go (based on pics), but the hose that goes down to a hard line (the second hose from the front). it appears to go to a free-air vent or something; what does this connect to?
I know of these connections:
1. To 'airbox'
2. unknown down to a hard line that runs down toward the front framerail (NOT THE HOSE THAT GOES TO THE TANK) In the pic below, it's the line just above the white label on the evap cannister.
3. VSV to intake (vac)
4. hose that goes to a hard line, that runs back to the tank.

IIRC that is like you said some kind of free air vent. I think it just sticks into a hole in the frame. But your original hole in the frame is on the other side isn't it, so maybe find a new one or just let it hang somewhere. I'm not sure why they put it in the frame anyway.
