looking for good mechanic in Calgary AB
1st time to site today....
I live in cold, windy Calgary alberta, and I'm not mechanically inclined and need a recommend mechanic (hopefully a good one) to look at my '87 4Runner. It has rebuilt in it (before I got it) and I just noticed that coolant is finding it's way into my oil (seen on the dipstick).
Anyone out there know of someone good in town? I am a student who wants her truck to run this winter to go to the mountains and back.
Cheers.

Mid-sun Auto in Midnapore is good, at least I've had good luck with them. I usually doo all my own work but if i need something big they get to do it. There is also a good guy at the Shell station on Acadia and Southland dr. that has been good and real inexpensive.

As I am also in Calgary and need a water pump replaced but have neither the time or space (I'm a downtown apartment dweller) I'd be interested in hearing some more options if they're out there...

if you want to travel to Medicine Hat, i know a GREAT mechanic! good price and best job ever. go to 2139 10th Ave SW in Medicine Hat, and look for Daffy's Auto. i would give him a 5 outta 5 on his jobs and fair prices. even the local Toyota Dealer(parkcity toyota) wouldn't mess you about like most, i give you my word on that! they even sent mefree gifts after i moved away from there! if you do go, ask for Nigel, the head Mechanic, and tell him Dana sent you.

There might be a couple guys on www.4wheeler.ca that can give you a few ideas on local mechanics. They also have a good section on trail rides.

This looks like and old post, but do any of these places still hold up as recommended? Or does anyone know of others?
I've got an '03 Tacoma that's way overdue for a timing belt change. Normally I would try to wrench it up myself, but I'm a bit short on time this summer.
Cheers.

If anyone is still looking for a mechanic in the calgary or southern alberta region I live in the elk valley(fernie) which is about 15 minutes out of crowsnest pass. Im not a licensed mechanic, yet. I do lots of backyard work for a lot of people in the valley here. If i can't fix it i dont charge you plain and simple.
