I got a little distracted swapping a 3RZ in my 88 but I'm back to working on the monster. Gonna finish up the wiring and then run the fuel line from tank to the carb.
The next phase has begun. I drained the oil and transmission fluid out to get both pans off. The oil has been in there so long it has completely separated. Came out in 4 substances.
Drove out to the summit racing store to pick up some engine accessories. Got a warer pump, water outlet, 140amp alternator, dual carb linkage, trans pan gasket and fuel pump block off gasket. Had to go back and swap for the correct short style pump. It's the smoothie version and looks much nicer than the other one luckily. Timing cover was left out so I picked that up as well.
At the chrome shop dropping off all the front engine accessories to be polished, then the lower pans, cross member and tank skid to get show chrome. Cannot wait to get them
Looking good! I remember that style truck well, might have even seen this one in person if it made it to Calif. I used to go to the Oakland Roadster Show every year starting in 68. I went every year since then until the show moved to Pomona.

haven't checked out your thread for awhile, nice score on the tires.
getting parts back is cool
Nice progress
crazy that they had $125K into the truck.
You may have mentioned it but can I ask what you paid for the truck?
I know you are gonna have a bit (ok a bunch) getting it back to it's former glory
