Yes, O.P.,
You need to trace that wire spliced to the ground (white with blk stripe) wire, and see where the other end leads up to. IF you cannot post good pics, WRITE actual wire colors. You camera and/or our monitors / smartphone screens may not show colors accurately.

Yea the no crank problem I think I have figured out on my truck, might be because the starter relay is unplugged, nothing to do with the missing engine of course =D. Still a little clueless why it doesn't charge.

Joking aside, I do know some people really don't' like electrical, I'm not saying the best route is to replace all the harnesses, but if you (the OP) want to replace them w\o trying to fix your current harness, I have everything but the actual carb/engine sub harness on this 87. Mine's 2wd long box xtra cab manual trans non-tilt column, no wiper delay, manual windows, 5 speed manual trans, and carb'ed 22r Toyota pickup.

Either way, good luck with the project and diag work.
