You need a bell housing off of a 1jzgte to run a r154 on a 2j. This helped with my swap

Hey thanks! ... btw from my other post, ppg would be my second choice. I got a friend that has one like that. My blue one came along for a good deal and love the color.

To bring this thread back from the dead, I recently purchased this truck, it found it's way up to Canada.

Previous owner crashed it, tweaked the frame and the cab a tiny bit.

Pulling the cab and doing a frame swap, also truck now has a HX35 on it, assuming the twins died on a previous owner at one time.

Wanna take some pics and measurements of the mounts? I'd love to see some pics of the truck. I'd love a 2JZ in my '86.

Bicperformance sells the mounts to put a 1jz or 2jz into an 89-95 truck.

Bics mounts are for a 2wd r154 setup.

This truck is using a r151 tail housing on a r154 transmission with a front sump pan...

I've got alot of pics to follow.

and? what advantage does a front sump give you? nothing. Especially since he had to modify some steering components.

and this guy isn't making kits any more i assume since this thread is kinda old. I'm sure bic would make the kits for the same price with a 4wd if someone asked.

Front sump pan clears the ifs diff, steering modification takes about 2 minutes to complete. Bic may one day do a set of 4x4 mounts, I'll talk to Jeremy and show him the truck when it's on the road again.

bump for a super old thread and ISC not being open anymore..

inchworm makes a divirced transfercase adapter for the toyota cases. you can always get a jap import engine and tranny combo and just put the adapter behind whatever tranny came with the motor. i really like this idea cause if you want auto (i dont like) then you can use same wires and same computer that comes with the motor.

Any room under the hood for mods on the 2jzgte in my 94 4runner?

Is there any room for mods under the hood? I want my 4runner to get 600hp at least. Thankyou!

As some of you may know I have been driving/testing my 1994 Pick up with a 2JZGTE (twin turbo Supra) Swap for about a year now. The combination works so well it makes us wonder why Toyota did not do this from the start. I have used the truck for everthing from towing a 22 foot boat (no it does not slow down over hills) to drag racing it at the local track(13.2@100mph traction limited). I currently drive it every day to work, avg. about 20 mpg (not bad cosidering the beating it takes by me and all the guys at the shop).

We are currently putting together parts lists and pricing on a kit. We would like more people to experiance this fantastic combination and would like some feed back on how much call there is for such a swap.

The kit will include the following

1.Bellhousing
2.Clutch
3.Throwout fork,pivot,bearing etc.
4.Pilot bushing
5.Slave cylinder
6.Flywheel
7.Hardware pack
8.Motor mounts
9.Trans mount
10.Down pipe to be used with the stock twins
11.Custom radiator
12.Front mount intercooler
13.Intercooler piping
14.Intake piping and filter

This is not a complete list yet and more info is on the way.
We will be offering special pricing for yotatech members.

Thanks for your time.

If I do the swap, I understand I will need a combined Bellhousing, a completely rebuilt r150f transmission, engine mounts etc.

I need to know if after I complete the 2jz gte engine swap, will there be room under the hood to mod the hell out of it without chopping things up and removing the bumper?

How much would the swap cost roughly if it were done by a reputable mechanic?

If your worried about chopping things up you shouldn't be doing this swap.

The truck in the picture has moved the driveline ~6 inches back in order to give enough space to use a stock rad. As well as the rad support is cut to be able to drop the motor into the bay...

If you have a V6 truck just do a 3.4 swap. If your a 22r truck 7mgte it.

Man there is a 2jz-tte with 60k from Japan on Craig's list by me. I wish I had the money. It would be on its way into my old runner.
