wierd error trying to install a new game

wierd error trying to install a new game
Just purchased the game FEAR - looks fun and scary but I can't event get it to install. I click install and the installshield wizard starts and then I get these errors... Any clues? I'm running XP (sp2) just updated my motherboard drivers and video drivers an don a fairly new system as far as that goes. URGH!

hmm, that looks like a memory or harddrive malfunction... i'd suggest running a diagnostic
- memtest86 (for the ram)
- and go to the hard drive manufacturer's site for their diagnostic tool.
