Dr, if you can get one setup and working that would also be cool.
The nice server that is setup now is going down next Thursday.
It has only been up since last Saturday, but all at the UW dorm have to clear their stuff out for the summer, and the guy has to disconnect his server too.

Just a reminder, game tonight @ 7 PM PST
If you do not have all three bonus packs as outlined here earlier, you are screwed

Data: I don't know if your awaer, but you don't use the "UT2004.exe" to run the dedicated server. There is a "RunServer.bat" file that needs to be modified. It runs a UCC.exe some arguments.

So I got my server up and running. PM me if you want it. I think it's got everything wanted. If you can give me a maplist then I can make one.

Dang it, I'm just leaving work right now and it'll take me at least 40 minutes to get home and I haven't downloaded the extra levels yet. If I make it tonight, I'll probably be late.

You got server up?
Most cool.

There are so many new maps I just discovered a few days ago from those two extra bonus packs I have not had time to look them all over yet.
But a few are listed below along with the regular ones and some from the Editors Choice bonus pack.

For Team Death Match I like:
Kerosene
Summit (this rocks, the mountain scenery is cool)
Grendelkeep
Osiris
Hyperblast 2
Tokara Forest (very good one)

Just to name a few.

I also find that a few mutators such as I mentioned earlier add to the game:
Love gravity
Big head
Instagib (only one weapon, but easy to kill and rack up points so the maps change more often)

Also do you have 3rd person view enabled?
The guy who set up the server I wanna play on tonight at 7 said to edit this line:
bAllowBehindView=True

Not sure if the "b" is suppose to be there, but I just took that from my AIM log with him earlier in the week when he was setting it up.

How about we try that server for a bit, then we can try yours?
What connection are you running?
I will PM you for the IP.

Steve, shame on you
Those two extra packs you need are close to 200 MB each.

Well, if you join in still, your PC will DL them, but you will not get the music.

Got your PM beau. I tried to join but the connection failed for both servers. I also tried to download the bonus packs, but it gave me an error.

Oh well, next time. I'll try to get the bonus packs tonight or this weekend.

Drbeau, had a lot of fun playing tonight.
I will play tomorrow off & on quite a bit.

UT2004 has to be one of my favorite all time games.
Game has a lot to offer.

Have not tried vehicle CTF, saw that in the list.
Must be multiplayer with rigs, that would be cool.
Will have to test that tomorrow.

Anyone wanna play around 8 PM PST tonight?

I have been playing off and on quite a bit today testing stuff, and the server works pretty good.

If anyone wants to play, please PM me or dr for the IP and password please by 7:50 PM.

I'll just post the IP here for everyone.

IP: 24.249.204.175

Pass: "yt"

I may invite a few of my none toys friends, but we'll see. Maybe we'll try out some of the other gametypes as well. All the modes are tons of fun for team play, especially Assault, Onslaut, and Bombing Run. Hopefully I'll be home by 8.

Unlock more players

I just ran across a cool thing you can do to get more players.
In your user.ini fire which is in the system folder in UT2004, do a search in it and use the info below.

Open User.ini in Notepad & look for the following:

[GUI2K4.UT2k4MainPage]
TotalUnlockedCharacters=

change it to:

[GUI2K4.UT2k4MainPage]
TotalUnlockedCharacters=Malcolm;ClanLord;Xan
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
I just did, and I have about 15 or so more players.
Basicaly 3 or more, but a few different colors of them.

It should be up and running. Just look at my post above (#52). We could use this thread as an alert. I would play now, but I'm kind of at work. I should be home by 6:30 or 7 though.

Well, I'll probably be busy after work during the week. More toward the weekends is best for me, Fri, Sat, Sun.

I am more of a Friday, Saturday, Sunday gamer myself.
I was just at work from 4 am until 3:30 PM.

No steam left in me for gaming, and I gotta be back at work at 4 am again.

I really like that Koma map I set in the map list.
Very cool map.

What we can also do if anyone gets tired of the "one shot kills" Instagib shock rifle is do this too:

1. Set all weapons on again.
2. Or set the mutator to "Arena" then config it so we all have rocket launchers, lightening guns, or even the minigun.
You pick one weapon in the Arena list, and we only get that one.
http://www.unrealtournament.com/ut2004/weapons.php

The Instagib though is my favorite since you do not waste any ammo.
One shot and its all over.

Great! I'm going to be reinstalling windows on my server as it has been acting very screwy. sometimes it's perfect, sometimes it freaks out. I think it has something to do with the fact that its the x64-bit edition. Once we go back to 32-bit I think all will be better.

Sounds good Ben, looking forward to playing with ya.

Dr, does that mean I have to re-input the game folder with my name on it that had that list of games, or will all the settings still be just like before?

Guy's, also make sure you edit that ini file I listed a few posts above, or you may not see the player I play.
In other words I might be invisible to you, and that would be a very unfare advantage
I am not sure if that is the case, but I have seen it happen in other games before.

The dude I am playing as right now is known as Xan, one of the boss robots you have to beat in single player.
Normally to get him you have to beat the game, but that code above will unlock the extra players.
