palm desktop for Sony Clie
Apparently the palm desktop distributed with Sony Clie handhelds is different than the standard palm desktop (go figure... I love sony). Anyways... I got a Clie (NX70) recently and it doesn't have the software CD. Anyone have a copy of the Palm Desktop for the Clie? Any way I could get a copy?
I can get the palm to sync with my PC, but my datebook, address book, email, etc doesn't come over.

From what I recall its not the Palm software that was different it was a extra program they called USB switcher or something that got installed afterwards to allow the palm to pick the right serial/USB port for there cradle/sync cable.

I had an NZ90 and kept the software. The most worthless piece of electronics I ever owned. I was happy to ditch it for the TH55 but ticked that Sony quit making palms. Now Palm isn't even using the Palm OS. Guess Windows kills another piece of greatness.

I want to get the GPS adapter for it.

I found the flip and rotate design to be too fragile. The NZ90 is very bulky and I never used the keyboard. With the next generation of Clies, the input software was much better for a device a fraction of the size. a 2mp camera is just a teast these days, my cell phone can almost do that so it wasn't worth the bulk. But an interesting note, the NZ 90 with a 1gb memory stick had more memory and a faster processor than the computer I took to college and used through my Junior year (2002). I love how technology begets technology.
Beware that a GPS pc card will not work in a Clie unless you buy software to hack the device. Yes, your clie has a cf slot but it is only designed for Sony's propriatary wireless card, which by the way if you want one I have one cheap. To use a compact flash memory card or GPS then you'll have to hack the Clie. I think I found a few places when I had mine that for $20-$30 you could download what you needed. Total scam but the only way to make it work. Another reason why I ditched my NZ90.
AND I know exactly where my software is and could zip and email if needed. It might be better as it would support the larger screen versus the TJ37 which is a cheapo model.

And yes, I'd love to try the software you have. I can also setup an account for you on my FTP server if for whatever reason you can't zip it and e-mail it to me. When you zip it, rename the file (change the extension) to a .txt file. The office firewall strips out zip files. I'll change the extension back and be good to go.
Thanks.

www.sonyclie.org
Thats all you need right there.. mass memory drivers, hotsync drivers.. applications ect...
the drivers are around 12mb and contains everything you need. Sony.com's support page has the updater program that will work with the drivers.
This is just a tad better than gettin the stock oldies from the disk, plus its recent software so you wont run into the old bugs.
I run a PEG-UX50/U bluetoothed to my Sony S700i Cell(both from iraq), and my S700i is bluetoothed to my headset so I can listed too my mp3's from 250feet away from my desk without havin to carry everything around. pretty neet eh?
