Corey - I'm taking the plunge very soon.

I read that the sound quality was on par with your landline earlier in this thread. Are you still happy with the sound quality? My wife's folks have it and my wife says it sounds awful - but we aren't sure if it's their phones, or their inability to keep from nearly pushing the phone INTO their mouths like they're a subway stop announcer. After reading this thread, it seems that it might be the a quality setting that they can control? My wife's Dad is all thumbs around anything related to the computer, so I can see how this might be a user setting issue.

Mine sounded awful at first but found out it was the phone. I switched from a 900 mhz phone to a 5.8 ghz from Panasonic and the reception was much better! My parents thought I reverted back to a landline.

we did too. we were *so* tired of them. self-centered and monopolistic. just when we thought their customer service couldn't get worse, it did. get ready for a weekly slew of sappy "we want you back" and snippy "so... new provider not following through on their promises?" snail-mails.

Cebby, I am 100% happy with Vonage.
I too have a 5.8 ghz from Panasonic, there is a thread here on that.

The voice quality is 100% now on par with QWest my old provider.

Running stock settings too via Vonages website on the adjustment thing you can do to your bandwidth.

I can game in multiplayer online battles and talk with Vonage at the same time and it all works perfectly as my son is in the other room gaming also online.

I've had vonage for 2 years. before the days of number portability. They had no problem transferring my number from Comcast (stupid digital phone).

I have two lines and I still pay less than I did before. My whole family now has vonage, so even if we didn't have the unlimited plan, we'd still get to talk free.

Well worth the few small quirks.
