Yes, BF runs fine.
Member Drew plays Viet Nam with his ATI 9800 XT, and it works great.
I just got done playing the new UT 2004 multiplayer Team Deathmatch for about 45 minutes or so, and it looks great on the TV set.
At 27" it looks cool, but alas, it's still in black & white.
Have not heard back from ATI as of yet on how to solve this.
Bob, Hydravision is included on the new Catalyst drivers 4.4 which I just installed by the way before the game.
They just came out on the 5th.
But they do not install since it detects my card is not one of the ones on the list.
That's to bad, as a lot of those features are the same ones I had with the Nvidia drivers I used with my other card.
I still like this card though, as it's got a lot more power than the FX5200 I had in here.
I think I will be installing it in my sons 1.7 Ghz machine.
Bob, I don't know the name of the converter plug, but I believe ATI has them on their site for sale.

Thanks, Corey, that's just what I needed, but didn't see it at first on the ATI site. I'm going to try and fire up (probably shouldn't use that expression) my old Dell Trinitron using the DVI port on my 9800. I hope it doesn't take out the card if it starts arcing again. I can't believe the monitor acted up about a month after I started a thread here asking how to extend a CRT's lifespan. Remind me never to start a thread asking how to extend the life of a '96 Land Cruiser.

He he...
I am running the same Iiyama 19" monitor I bought back in '97 or early '98.
It took monitor of the year award back then, and has not given me one hitch.
Gosh, I am so tempted to go into the other room and bring the other 19" one in, but it would cover my speakers on the wall.
Those are the left front, center, and right front ones.
If I move the other monitor to the right some more, it's going to be in the way of the cable modem and router, and opening up my 4 tier high CD collection cases.
Not much room on the desk here.
What I need is a dual 19" LCD setup that takes up less space.
I believe someone on the forum has a setup like that, and it looks very rad.
PS...anyone know of an ATI vid card forum?
I have Googled and can not locate one.
I'm sure there is a fix out there for the black & white screen I am getting.
Maybe this card doesn't like the S video connection on the vid card getting cut down to a component input for the front of the TV?
Maybe it needs to be S video all the way from the vid card, then to the back of the TV set for video one input where it can use S video like the VCR is now using.
Sure would like to fix this issue.
PS 2...
Whoaaa, think I found one.

PS 3...
Bummer...
Looks like it's a known issue with ATI based cards.
Again, Nvidia ruleth in TV out.
Looks like my theory of having to maybe use an S video cable all the way from the card to the TV set may be required.

I think your black and white problem may be due to the S-Video connector used on the ATi card. It most likely uses the non-standard 7-pin connector. I'd suggest trying this cable to get the color to your TV http://www.cablestogo.com/product.as...2012&sku=27963

Thanks.
Member Drew got his TV out in color with his ATI 9800 XT.
His cable is different than mine.
It's a 6' or so cable with RCA ends on both ends, and a S video adaptor that goes on one of the RCA ends and goes into the vid cards S video input.
His probably has the end on it like in the link you gave me.
Perhaps Radio Shack has proper pins on it like the one you listed.
I have a 'Shack real close to me.

ATI has a $5 adaptor I might try, as it's the same one Drew has.
I went to Radio Shack yesterday, and at $22, it's a joke.
Basically the same thing as the ATI one, as all it's doing is providing a conversion for the cable.

Member Drew (Andy) brought over the $5 S video adaptor that came with his 9800 XT card.
It's the same adaptor that goes for $5 like I mentioned on ATI's website.
As soon as we hooked it up to my cable from the PC to the TV, I had color

The cable with the S video on it I was using from my NVIDIA card only had the 4 pins on the back.
The one from ATI has 8 pins on it which is needed I guess for the ATI cards.
I fired up Unreal Tournament and both of us were blown away with how good it looked on the 27" TV in the other room.
Now I just have to order one from ATI.
