Microsoft PowerToy HTML Slidehow

I am a fan of several MS Powertoys.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx

I use Tweakui and Image Resizer, and I just downloaded the HTML Slideshow one.

It is super duper easy to setup a slideshow of your pics, and it auto makes thumbs for you.

The slideshow can be viewed a few ways with the thumbs showing, or just the full size pics.
You can even choose when setting up the show what size you want the pics at.

I took the pics from the Fall Colors Run we went on last month up at Greenwater and made a simple show.
I found that my IE security settings were blocking Active X content, so I had to click the toolbar above the IE window and tell it to allow the content from the show to run.

Works pretty good, and I will be doing this in the future for other projects.
Might come in handy too for a tech write-up.

Here is the link.

Those with a dialup connection may get red Xs until the pics download.
Some are close to 180 kb, some are smaller.

Cool tip Corey. Can the Slideshow generator be launched from a sheet full of thumbs?

You have to have the full size pics, it can not take thumbs and blow them up bigger if that is what you mean.

When you said it makes thumbs, I thought you meant that it took your large images and made thumbsized images (so you'd have both). I've seen sites that have kind of like a contact sheet (big page of small images) where if you double clicked on any image that it opened the slideshow (in a separate window I think)

Oh yeah, it does do that.
Look in my root folder for the slide show.
You will see the full size pics labled 1.jpg ect, and also thumbs.
The program makes them for you from the full size ones.

It will be in the Image folder.

That's a cool tool. Nice pics too. I saved the ones of the waterfall and pond. Good stuff.
