iTunes 7 is out
#22
I just got a IPOD 30gig. I can't yet form a opinion for itunes 7 but I do have one gripe. They sell you a video Ipod, but to install your videos you need to convert the format. They don't include the software to do that, so you have to go and buy software (i accuired some free software though) to convert the files. How come they don't give you the software free with your $250....

rollem, no need to buy software to convert.
Search for my username in the PC forum here.
I have links to free software on how to convert vids to the iPod and PSP format.
This just in from the guy who helped me get back 5.1 sound.

Well have to give some credit to Apple, they released 7.0.1 last night
and it appears to have fixed both the distortion, volume slider, and
CMSS issues...now if they could just fix the drag and drop from explorer
to iPod for video files, takes 100% cpu and about 30 seconds...

has been working flawlessly on my macbook pro. One gripe, when you download artwork, it doesn't "insert" it into the music file, iTunes keeps the artwork in a separate folder. So if you were to reformat your computer, or transfer your music to another computer, it does not keep the artwork. There is a fix for this, I will post it later (it's mac only though)
Apple also released 7.0.1 last night, it should fix a lot of the issues you guys are having.

Yes it does, and it starts the install process all over again.
It may work well with Macs, but with XP it is the busiest version ever.
Also I have a screamer of a PC, and it bogs it down.
Not even the most video intensive game I own bogs it down like iTunes 7.

Right on corey. I'll be sure to check that out. I'm new to IPOD and was getting a bit frustrated with it... Now, i want to hook it up to my stock stereo and Ideas on how to do that cleanly without using the fm module?

Is anyone else having a problem with importing more than 2 or 3 files at a time? If i try to import more than about 3 songs at a time, it wont import ANY of them. By import I mean adding to iTunes from limewire. It doesnt bring up an error or anything, you just click it and it ignores you.

ok, i just tried reinstalling itunes to try and get my top rated playlist back. that didn't work and itunes 7 sucks! Its slow, only plays out of one speaker, and I didn't even get my playlist back (can't believe I deleted it in the first place) now I have to jump through hoops to get back to the older version that I had (deleted, removed, gone!). I just want my top rated playlist back, theres got to be a way to reinstall that automatic playlist (like top 25, recently added, etc.)

I have the fix in this thread to get all of your speakers back.
It has to do with QuickTime, not iTunes.
I have the lastest iTunes now, and it works great.
Yes, more of a system hog than 6, but works great.

i looked at the quick time settings you listed above, but couldn't find them in the quick time preferences. the only one i was able to find was the safe mode and that didn't work as you stated. my major grip is not being able to get the Top Rated playlist back into itunes. I don't want to have to single handedly drag all the rated songs into a playlist, the should just go into one automatically but I don't have that option anymore.

problem solved, playlist wise, still need to work on the speakers issue. I just wiped out all folders/files itunes related and reinstalled 7. Got my top rated list back, once the libary is done importing, then I'll worry about setting the audio settings.

I love iTunes...I have the bose componet 3 desktop speakers and it sounds amazing...
I have never had any problems even with the updates. I have Sony Viao and it runs super smooth with 2,500 songs.
I'm sure if I had a less capable computer, I would run into some problems...

Two areas.
1. If you own a Creative card, go to your settings.

2. Go to your main Windows Control Panel and look for the Quick Time icon.

Set you audio to the number of speakers in your system.
