Good first person shooters
Alright guys, I'm a big fan of most WWII first person shooter games. I also like Soldier of Fortune and things like that.
I just recently bought Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood, pretty good game, graphics aren't all that hot but gameplay isn't bad and it's got a good story.
I am a DIE-HARD Metal of Honor fan, great graphics, fun gameplay, kind of easy at times though.
I just wanted to get some other opinions on good first person shooters, preferable WWII games but any first person shooter that is good is fine.
I'm not a big online player, just get sick of it sometimes so a good single-player mode is important to me.
I have been looking at the Call of Duty series, haven't played the first one at all and I was thinking about getting Call of Duty 2...anybody played it? Is it worth it?
Thanks guys!

I am also a die hard WWII FPS fan. If it's an FPS and it's not WWII, I don't play it...basically, some exceptions apply.
Anyways, if you have ever played any WWII FPS before COD (the 1st one), COD would blow you away HARD. Personally, it made me stick in my seat. It was not too hard but definately interesting and it had a great story. It wasn't only a "go out and shoot" type of game but you had to use a lot of strategy which I loved. It's also very real, basically if an enemy sees you first you will die (unless you are good enough to evade of course), no matter if it's the first level, yep, it's that real.
Many new games now-a-days can top the first COD, BF2 for example, but when COD came out it was the best. I would definately recommend getting it and then playing COD2 which is very good as well.
If you were into multiplayer, I would recommend WOLF:ET, because it's one of the best multiplayer games out there that you can enjoy for a while. But the community is slowly dying down...can't wait for RTCW2 tho
. Personally, I let go of MP gaming b/c it took away too much of my life, but it was fun while it lasted.

UnReal Tourn. is pretty sweet I will say, overall just a good run around and kill people game.
So marko you ARE recommending to get COD2, is it an expansion or a whole'nother game?

If you wanna see the graphics, I would go to the COD + COD2 website and check out their gameplay videos...they tell a lot.
If you do decide to get any COD series, let me know, I would be glad to play it through at the same time as you and discuss it along the way if you want, because the COD series is one my favorite!

Hmm...anyone played the slightly older games:
HERETIC by ID software,
Or maybe Rise Of The Triad? <-- my fav. first person shooter
Get Rise of the Triad. It's different. Fun, not new by any means but has quality gameplay and a classic first person shooter.

im playing cod2 right now i will post up some screenshots. its not a bad game much like the frist, im more into MOH though even know that pacific assault was kind of lame but still fun. some others are quake4 fear halflife1 and 2 if you havent played these you are missing out. I also like doom 3 and the exp pack.

I was pissed at Pacific Assualt. After waiting forever and eight days for it's PC release I beat it in an afternoon. Didn't care for the squad based playing. I've never played that one online but I have with every MOH game prior. My machine is a little slow for Pacific Assualt and lag sucks for online gaming. I'll probably buy the latest expansion when it's released on PC but I will check out COD2 too. Although I spend too much time behind a computer during the day as it is already.

LoL, I just went out and bought COD2...I'm really bored! Pretty awesome! I'm going through the training missions right now and it's a lotta fun, looks like it's gonna get kinda tricky. Graphics are pretty awesome, gameplay is fun, not too gory but definitely there, accurate effect of shots (i.e., more effect if shot in the head than in the arm/leg)
Pretty awesome!

I love COD1 and COD expansion. I tried the COD2 demo and it sorta works for my computer but the colors are wierd...it's my outdated graphics card.
Anyway, there are a couple COD1 demos out that you can download.
