First virus

After years of owning this out dated computer, it picked up its first virus.

The virus is called GRAND STREET INTERACTIVE. This is a legit self-titled website consisting of "software" that verifies and confirms safe site -- wrong. This is a major hair puller and it is a work out to get rid of it, if you are successful, which I haven't been.

I have spent hours on the internet researching and despite attempting just about everything suggested, I cannot delete it from my computer.

I have digged deep down into my registery files and been unsuccessful there.

I have ran both Ad-Aware and Spyboth, both being unsuccessful as well.

I am now running Zone Alarm firewall which is only keeping from other viruses intruding my connection.

Has anyone had past experience with this major nightmare?

Do a Google search - there may be a solution to your problem there.

No experiences with this particular one but I have had issues with hijacking spyware and some other things like it. One I didn't catch early enough and had to reformat. All the others since I've been able to fix by following steps in links found through Google.

As I said earlier, I spent about six hours following a lot of the instructions I found on Google on how to get rid of it and neither of them worked for me.
