Display driver failed?

So in the last 24 hours I've had my screen shut off, then restart on me about 3 times. Then a little box appears on the bottom right side and basically says "Display driver failed....was successful at restarting", something along those lines. Its never up for very long so I can't read the whole thing, but it concers me since its my mom's laptop and I'm the one who usually uses it

Any suggestions?

Windows 7 Pro (pretty sure)

HP Pavilion dv5 1254us

Where would I find driver updates?

try running the Windows Update utility (should be right ont he start menu)

Windows 7 is normally pretty good at finding new drivers for harware

if that fails, try HP's driver download. But using HP's site, you'll need to know a bit more specifics about the harware

That's what I'm afraid of lol. I am horrible at figuring this stuff out. Other people don't stand to have a problem though!

I haven't had this issue for a couple days now, so I'll let it slide until it starts happening again. Then I'll check the recommended places. Thanks
