Copyright question

I want to set up something where I'd be able to download ISO's of CD's/DVD's I own from anywhere... via FTP or HTTP. I'd secure the HTTP part where you wouldn't be able to get in without a username and password. My question is, is this copyright infringement by making the documents possibly available for any hacker to download?

You'll need to read the fine print. It's possible to forbid making backups of the original, that is making a copy of the CD/DVD or copying it on any other medium, and that includes the hard drive. Most music and movies don't fall into this category, so you can host them even on an open server. Unless someone can prove you intentionally distributed the material, which is very difficult to do, you have nothing to worry about.

Put up a disclaimer, since it is passworded it is fine. I think technically you are allowed one copy for yourself anyway...
