Best Video Game Ever?

You look down on the track as your racing against 4 (maybe 5) other cars. Each track/level gets more complex and faster. Oh yeah...it also had short cuts on the harder tracks but if you didn't hit them right, you'd blow up. It had VERY basic graphics but was fun and challenging. It came out on acrade first (which is the best) but then it came out on Nintendo or maybe N64. Every now and then i'll see the arcade at some random gas station or food shop. If anyone knows what i'm talking about, that game still kicks ass today.

Then I got all into computer games, mainly FPS games. I beat the original Half-Life, and it was brutally long and pretty complex. I think that may have surpassed the Zelda game, but the Zelda was the first legendary game for me.
Then I got into America's Army (an online FPS), and that was definately my favorite, until my computer hardware just got outdated.
Those were good times, I should really suck it up and build another sweet overclocked gaming rig again!

Ah, so many classics. I'm thinking of a few that are worth honorable mention:
Pong (the one that started it all)
Mario Brothers (NES), brought video games into their own.
Mortal Kombat (Arcade), lead the video game violence revolution.
Zelda (NES), introduction to adventure games.
Wolfenstein 3d (PC), introduction to first-person-shooters (subsequently usurped by DOOM).
...which are just several of the 'firsts' that anyone of us could name. However, I'll submit EverQuest (PC) as the most ultimate waste of time, evar11!!1!

ok, so I'm a technology "have-not". What's your point?
