DeadAIM is good for AIM.

 

Might i suggest a program called Gaim. It was originally developed to run on the unix platform but has been ported to windows. It is a very great multi-protocol instant messaging program.

Are you trying to click the AOL icon under the user name? If so, that's using "goim" which isn't supported.

You should be okay with "gochat" though...

If you're running Trillian Pro, then this plugin will help:

Downside is that it doesn't (currently) support the "message" param. You'll get a window open, but any message text specified with the tag will be ignored.

When you click the chat link and have AIM as your default messenger prog, it opens up the chat window where anyone can join in who also clicks the link.

Trillian will not do it for me.

Hey, it is working now.
I think you first have to fire up Trillian.
Last night when I tried it, it only opened up the app.
With AIM though, you can have it off and when you click the chat link, it takes you right to it.

I am in chat now.

 

Ahh... Yes, that should work fine, but as you found, only if Trillian is already loaded. That comes from an issue with Trillian's start-up. Trillian doesn't like to respond to comands when it's "cold". It wants to wait for it's init to be done so that plugins and such have a chance to intercept I/O.
