I am currently seeking advice, opinions etc on macs. I have a sony laptop right now and we want to add a desktop. What do you like about your mac besides they do well with photo's and videos. Does anybody have the I-mac?

I have the new Duo Core I Mac 24"
What can I say?? The same people who brought you the I Pod, the I phone, I tunes etc.! I could go on and on. IMHO it is a work of art!
It is quiet, super fast, all the components are fluid and VERY user friendly. The OS is brilliant ( worm and virus free.) The LCD display is crystal clear.
There are a zillion articles on the I Mac so there is no reason for me to ramble on and on. I have always owned Macs and (should they continue to be available) I will always own a Mac.
I had a G4 for 6 years and never NEVER had one problem with it NOT ONE. That computer is still in use and running strong without ONE hardware repair or upgrade in all 6 years! That computer is still faster than most PC's I deal with. That speaks volumes!
Go to an Apple store and get on a Mac.
Have one of the techy's lay to rest all of the nonsensical rumors you hear about compatibility, gaming, software, speed, blah blah.

I have always had Macs. I have never had to trash one, only retire them because I upgraded and that is very infrequent because they are so reliable and stay fast longer. I own two desktops at my house and two laptops and despite the fact the two of them are very old, they still work great. My last desktop I bought was in 2001 and it is still very usable. I am looking to upgrade it to a new iMac just because I want a smaller footprint and no tower on the floor.

I am in the process of upgrading all of my office PC's to iMacs. I already have two in place and they are awesome. We run fusion or virtual box if we need to run a windows program, and it is faster than my fastest PC.

I love the laptops because they are compact, thin and lightweight. I mostly use a Macbook and I take it everywhere with me. The only problem I have ever had with my 4 macs is a battery went bad on my Macbook and it was replaced under warranty.

You might check out the Refurbished ones at the Apple store if you want to save some money. Look at the bottom of the page and it will say refurbished mac. That is where I have gotten all the computers in my office. I have gotten two iMacs and three laptops that were factory refurbished with no problems.

Look at it this way, Macs are like Toyotas. A little more expensive, but durable and reliable. You bought a Toyota didn't you...buy the Toyota of computers.

Like Toyospearo I still have a G4 and use it daily. Mine was bought in 2001...never, EVER a problem at all. Every thing he says it true, and you will never have another computer headache again.
