Wondering if this antenna mount will work

http://www.outdoordogsupply.com/truc...lpha-or-astro/

I'm considering installing this style mount ^^ on my 1985 pickup in the middle of the hood, closest side to the cab. I don't have my truck with me right now, so I was wondering if anyone out there could tell me if that edge of the hood would work with this mount?

I don't want to put it on the side of the hood because I run through some thick stuff and will end up breaking the antenna or mount/hood. I can't mount the antenna on my toolbox because I have two radio antennas on it and this new antenna will be for my GPS that can burn up if the antenna is too close to high powered radio antennas. (High powered being anything over 5 watts according to what I've read on the GPS forums)

Thanks in advance for any help!

It was delivered while I was at work Saturday, Got it installed yesterday and it is working great so far. It was raining and dark when I finished, will get pictures this afternoon and post them tonight or tomorrow.

My truck looks kinda crazy with three antennas sticking off of it now

Please excuse the redneck two-tone. I do plan on painting it all one color once I can get around to doing some rust repair on the cab.
