stress on antenna...

I assume
I am assuming you mean on the CB antenna.
I had a Firestik 4' on the HD spring on the rig going down the interstate at 80+ mph, no problems all the way to Tellico and back, over 10 hours round trip.

My question was kind of vague... I guess I'm curious about the combination of spring and quick-disco. Do most people choose one or the other?

HD Spring and Quick Disco
I should have said I have the HD Spring and the Quick Disco (had) in my CB antenna setup, no problems on the highway or on the trail. I think it is the way to go.
EDIT: In 2 trips to Tellico, no problems off road with the Firestik mounted up front on the ARB and there was lots of heavy brush overhead that it caught on.

It is NOT, however, the way to go with a Firestik 4 footer if you're off-road (Freeway, like Brian said, is fine). That's a good way to beat the crap out of your rig! (I know, I've done it on the Naches!). Three foot works just fine under both conditions.
