If anyone has installed a CB or Scanner in your Runner where did you put it?

In my old car I was able to sneak the scanner under the radio and burried in the dash (where the CD option would have gone). This allowed me to hard wire the power and antenna and to hide it from the LEO's as it is not legal in every state. But the Runner doesn't seem to have any space like at all???

 

did you search? there are alot of threads on this.

 

I put my GALAXY 99 on the glove box but it is a lot bigger then most of the radios guys are using here size wise and power wise also have a TEXAS STAR 450 watt linier with it.
I belive the CORBRA 19 will fit under the stereo with a bit of trimming just check the posts on CB INSTALLS AND YOU FIND THE RIGHT MODEL for installing under the stereo

 

did you kills the little storage space below the radio?

(yes i searched but come up empty)

 

i put mine in that space under the radio. fit perfectly. needed no trimming or anything.

 

PepsiBlueFloat - what space under the radio? Do you mean you removed the small little compartment? There seems to be very little space there?

I was thinking about using the area where the electric outlet is. It seems to be wide enough I just have to see if there is room below it (ie to go deeper). I like this configuration because there is a nice little cover that I could use to hide the scanner....

 

In the comparment under the stereo and climate control and where the little storage compartment is - does anyone know how far back that goes? I have a scanner that is 8 Wide by 7 DEEP by 2 High....Ideally, I'd like to keep the cover over it too to keep it hidden....
