Cb radio location

Alright im looking for a place to put my new cb radio in my 2002 4runner.

The radio i got is a Cobra 29 WX NW ST. I was thinking about putting it underneath my deck since it has a little space there or i was thinking about putting it by the passenger seat.

Im baffled on where to put it and i was hoping to maybe get a couple other ideas.

I also need a place to put my 3ft. firestik antenna if anyone has any ideas.

- Thanks!

There's plenty on this site about other cb's that are the same size.

come on scuba. . i was getting ready to put up a post asking how big of tires i should go. though with a CB that big i would ask too. id get an aftermarket rear view and mount it trucker-style where the old rear view was.

I just bought the same CB (Cobra 29 LTD) off CL. I think I could wrestle it under my head unit (single DIN). However I wanted the CB to be easily removable. So I mounted it on the passenger's side of the tranny hump. I'll try to get a photo when I get home. It doesn't really get in the passenger's way, although my GF has been my only passenger so far, and she is small.

BTW, it’s a great CB. I think the "big" ones generally have better electronic circuits and are more tunable and peakable, if that's your game.

What makes you the "search man?"
Honestly it gets more annoying seeing people say "searchsearchsearchsearch" than the people starting the new threads.

That is a pretty big Cb, so your most likely going to have to mount it like elton did, modify your dash to fit, or think of some additional mounting points...

I have a cobra 18wxst II and i like how it mounts..

The main reason i got that one.

Well I finally mounted mine...Right next to the auto shifter on the passenger side. Have the mic mounted above the goody holder in the center console. Still need to get an antenna.

ya thats where i was thinking of mounting mine just right underneath my aftermarket stereo. i would have to pull of the dash and modify it a little bit but i have a friend whos good at doing that so that should help.

That one i have is a bit smaller than the one you have, so yours will probably be a TIGHT fit. If you can make it work im sure it would be cool though. Another thing to consider is how nice will you be able to hear it? Mine is good cause it has a front firing speaker, you might want to look into another speaker to mount if its hard to hear.

the search bar is a wonderful tool. the only problem is that it doesnt search just the title, it brings up ANY thread that has the few words you typed in. so when i go to search something, i still have about 20 pages of threads to look through because all those threads have my searh words in them, yet they are completely off topic from my search.
