The chances are that it will _NOT_ work.

The issue comes from where the satellites are, and what type of an orbit they fly.

Sirius' boxes fly an elliptical orbit where each sat will spend about 16 hours/day over the _US_. What happens the other 8 hours/day for each box is what you care about, and the other side of the ellipsis may/may not cover the part of the world that you happen to be in.

XM is totally out of the running - their boxes are flying in geostationary orbit, and are locked over North America. Europe barely has any idea that the service even exists.

just installed a sirius radio in my Tundra today (got a deal on the OEM tuner for the nav system, under $100 it's normally over 300)

Anyways, what are some good stations on sirius? I mainly like the newer rock music and stuff like that, not rap, and not too much country. Howard stern is a hilarious channel!

Here are some of my favorite stations for sirus:
28- faction, by far my favorite music station, lately they have had some pretty long punk blocks. And marky ramones show is great.
21- alt nation
20- octane
27- hard atak
108- maxim
34- boombox, for my freestylin needs, lol

I have sirius and I used to work on a lot of cars with xm
IMO, sirius has better programming if you listen to rock and all things related, they also have cooler radio shows such as radio Bam (Margera), they are more no holds bars on what they play. On the other hand xm seems to have a little better quality and seems to not cut out as much.

I haven't heard xm for about 2 years so things could have changed since, but I love my sirius I've had it for three years now

I love the mix on Faction, some punk, some rock, and some rap, but the rap I hear is usually rap I like, not like a lot of the rap that is around now.

I listen mostly to:

Octane
Hard Attack
Faction
Alt Nation
Howard 100

Then randomly listen to:

Coffee House
Jam On
Buzzsaw
Backspin
Revolution
Blue Collar Comedy

I have the Sportster 4 and although I love the unit itself and love the remote which I use all the time, the FM transmitter leaves a lot to be desired. I had borrowed a buddies Starmate Replay when I was trying to decide if satellite radio was really worth paying for and his fm transmitter worked awesome. I even returned the sportster I had because after spending a couple hours on the phone with sirius customer service, they concluded that I had a faulty unit... but the new one had the same problem. Not a huge deal, my tundra will be getting a new HU soon enough, then I can connect it directly.

Sirius in the car (sportster) and XM in the truck (came with the truck with 1yr subscription-pioneer head unit). I'll be letting the XM subscription lapse at the end of the year. Sirius defintely has the better music selection for my styles. Faction, Octane, Hard Attack etc..

SIRIUS!

I got it in Jan 05 for Stern like everyone else. I then bought a lifetime subscription and 2 additional monthly subscriptions (wifes car, my car, and work). It's totally worth it even without Stern. All my wife listens to right now are the 2 christmas chanels they've got going.

I have sirius. I have had it for 2.5 years now. I like the stations that they have a lot.

I haven't been impressed with their customer service, specifically when i was trying to deactivate a stolen unit. I did get it deactivated, but it was frustrating to deal with the runaround right after it happened.

I also don't like the DJ's, or the Band interviews they do.

Just got the Sirius Starmate Replay for Christmas. Loving it so far, just have to figure out where the heck to mount it (I'm not sure I want to have it in the windshield all the time).

My dad put his at the top of the windshield near the rearview mirror, it works out pretty well there, I was surprised. I keep mine on the windshield, about 1/4" above my dash, also works well. IIRC, there is some sort of a DIN adapter for the starmate replay that allows you to mount it under the head unit if it is single DIN, you should check it out.

Yeah I saw that, but my factory stereo is a 2-DIN, so no-go on that. I'm liking the possibility of mounting on the right hand side of the stereo next to the glove box, but it would take a custom bracket. For now I guess I'll stick it to the widshield, but my GPS is normally there and they take up too much room side-by-side... I'll have to sit in my cabin and just start moving it around to different spots and see what I think.

No custom bracket needed. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-v3fJDpt...850#morephotos

And see your other thread about the adapter harness.
