**Ultimate 10" Battle**

Stepping up to the ring today are (7) subwoofers, ladies and gentleman thats (7) subwoofers... Our competition is based in 60%SQ..40%SPL class of 10" woofers being played off of an MTX 9100d mono amp which is 750x1 @ 4 ohms while 1500x1 @ 2 ohms...

#1 Alpine "Type-X" w/ a rating in power of: 1000rms 3000peak w/: 81 dB of sensitivty

#2 MTX Thunder "9500" w/ a rating in power of: 750rms w/: 81.3 dB of sensitivity

#3 Diamond Audio "TDX" w/ a rating in power of: 1500rms w/: 90dB of sensitivity

#4 Digital Design "3510" w/ a rating in power of: 1000rms 1600 music power handling w/ 86.5 dB of sensitivity

#5 Resonant Engineering "SX" w/ a rating in power of: 1000rms 2000peak w/: 85.2dB of sensitivity

#6 Eclipse Titanium "SW9102" w/ a rating in power of: 750rms 1500 music power handling

#7 Adire Audio "Brahma" w/ a rating in power of 1600rms 4800peak w/: 82.3dB of sensitivity

Rules: Has to be played with this amp> Has to be played in small sealed box>Can only use one woofer

Objective: some commentary of each with the least amount of bloodshed as possible...need to know what the difference is in buying a 4ohm woofer compared to 2 ohm woofer...

DING DING DING___ROUND ONE!!!

alot of thoes subs cannot be put into sealed encloseures unless your running loads of power. If I rember right there is only one DD that can go sealed, the rest are slot ported. I infact that the 3512 before my current setup, and the box built to the dd specs took up almost half of my trunk in my '97. Similar the RE and the Brahma. They are all built in similar fassions and require huge slot ported boxes. The TDX needs to in a fairly small slot ported box, I had 2 in my trunk running 1400watts. I know the eclipse Ti are awsome subs, but they also crave power. The rest are crap to an audiophile. You need to run them at 2ohms, so make sure you buy dual 4ohm sub to drop it to 2. But that is only my opinion.
