Tweeter works-Speaker doesn't
Hey guys...I lent my Klipsch 2.1 ProMedia to one of my high school students for his science fair project. Upon return, I noticed that the speaker with the control pod wasn't working. A little more investigation showed that the tweeter was working but the speaker wasn't.
I opened it up and the small board (crossover board?) behind the speakers smelled like hot electrical, although I hadn't run it long or at high volumes. Tech support tells me to buy another speaker, but I HATE throwing things away (like money) when I can usually fix them better than new...with a little guidance.
Any of you have similar problems? Are there any culprits that are normally responsible for this type of failure (like faulty capacitors)?
Thanks!
