suggestions/help with door speaker install

I blew my OEM passenger side speak....now I need to get some new ones and install....do I just have best buy do this up or shall I attempt it myself ??

I've never had luck with removing door panels...i really FORKED up this '84 buick regal that I had doing speakers....so, can an idiot like me do it without killing the door integrity? Tips or point me to a write up?

thanks in advance!

Taking the door panel off is pretty damn easy... I suggest you perform this install yourself. You will learn from it and it may be fun. I believe there is a write up to remove the door panel here somewhere on the forum, but it's also described in the manual if you have one. What size speakers are you thinking about getting? You may have to make some mounting brackets if the depth is above 2.5", but making those are also pretty easy...

cool then...so, it's pretty easy....good! DO the top and bottom panels remove seperatly? I think I can do it....I just didn't know if it has those damn little clips that break ever-so-easy! I have no clue on the size...prolly something similar to stock, but a higher wattage handling....don't want them to blow again!
suggestions on speakers that won't break the bank?
thanks,
aaron
