I put a cd in and nothing happens. Then it ejects by itself. I went and purchased one of those lens cleaning cds and the same thing happened.

So does this mean I am SOL and have to get a new cd player?

But on the other hand, I have an old Kenwood that I purchased in '98 that I had in my '90 Runner. It's been sitting in a box wrapped up in plastic for a while.

What are the odds that it would fit in my 2000?

I guess I would need the model # and call Circuit City to see if it will fit?

If you want another stock HU, let me know and I'll let you have one cheap. I just replaced mine with an Alpine 9847 and the difference through the stock speakers was amazing. HU sells at Best Buy for $180.00, another $40.00 for wiring harness adapter and dash kit and you're rockin'!

BTW, add some MBQ's and a Mac amp and you got a real rocking system!

 

Thanks BG. I think I need to go ahead and get a new HU. I looked at the specs on my old Kenwood and the specs of current HUs - wow, I haven't been paying attention to car stereos for a long while and they are a lot more powerful these days.

I guess I'll put a new car stereo on my list this summer.
