ok, so i was trying to install my new alpine cda-9833 HU tonight, and i had finished wiring up the unit with the appopriate metra wiring harness. problem is, when i get everything hooked up....no sound whatsoever. ive checked and checked and i cant find an issue with my wiring, i connected everything correctly. i have a 97 limited tr4. does anyone know what the issue might be?

 

by pass the factory amp? i'm guessing....

make sure you follow the same procedure here.

assuming you are just making a head unit change and nothing else:

- did you unplug and remove the amp?
- did you wire everything up correctly?
- is the mute button on?
- did you unplug the speakers?

my best guess is that you may have not wired it correctly

i bypassed the amp but i didnt find a place on that metra harness for the mute (audio interrupt) wire to go to. i figure that must be the issue. any suggestions?

 

haha figured it out i just had to turn the internal amp on the HU
