New head unit keeps blowing fuse!

Hey gang.
So last night I installed a new Kenwood KDC BT645U (SWEET head unit)in my 97 taco. Got everything hooked up, cranked her up everything worked just like it was supposed to. So I'm cruisin around tonight, flip on the head lights, WAM! No gauge lights, no HVAC lights. Get home pop the hood, blown fuse(10A fuse labelled PANEL) put in a new one, turn on the head lights, the dash lights come on for a half a second then go off. There's a nice little burnt smell and another blown fuse.... Any thoughts??
Thanks!

Something's grounding out, pull it out and check your wiring. Possibly your illumination wire is crossed somehow or another. Any deck I have ever installed I have never hooked up the illumination wire I believe it's orange or orange white off of the kenwood.

you more than likely either hooked up the dimmer wire incorrectly, or left it bare and it is grounding out. the dimmer can be orange, orange with white, or orange with black. usually on yota harnesses you will only see orange or orange white. on that radio, you dont need to hook up any dimmer wires.
