New antenna?

I want to do the tacoma whip antenna mod done in the tech write up section on my 4runner, I'm just wondering if I should use a different antenna (firestik perhaps) that would get better AM/FM reception thAn the factory one. Any comments or suggestions?

Just do the Taco whip, it fits like a glove and looks cool too. I am very happy with the mod.

I thought the radio has something to do with signals too, as in how strong of a signal they can pull in.

I still would like to make my roof rack into an antenna one day.
