How much for a decent stereo?

The local audio shop quoted me for about $700 for this setup including install and tax:

170 for deck
105 for two 4" in dash speakers
250 for 200 watt amp
120 for the woofer.

or for 75 more i could get 6.5" in door speakers.

Does this sound right?
Thanks for any info.

Depends on what the equipment you will be getting... You may be able to do much better for that price. What brands/models are these? I would get 6.5" door speakers instead of the 4" dash... Are they going to build a box for that sub for you?

You have to find out what you want out of the system. Once you do that shop around for the best price.

uh, I dont know anything about the 88 yota's, but will 6.5" fit????

And remember, just because the speaker is bigger, doesn not make it better, especially when it comes to mids & highs. A good 4" can sound better than a cheap 6.5". You'll just have to do some test listening.

you can put 6.5 in the door panels, you just have to mod it. I had 6.5's in my old 91 toyota pickup.
