Lightbulb goofy stereo question

Anybody ever heard of someone adding a headphone jack to their car stereo?

I know it can be done, 'cuz of the van/minivan jacks for kids.

I was just kinda wondering how to add it to me own system....

All I can say is I hope you're not doing it for you.

It is VERY ILLEGAL to do that. To wear headphones and drive is dangerous, because you cannot hear emergency vehicles or another car honking at you (if you are getting into their lane and can't see them kind of thing).

I wanted to shoot this kid I saw at school, nearly hit me backing up then drove off with full earphones (the ones that cover the entire ear).

I don't know if the newer pick ups have rear speakers, but if they don't maybe you can tap the stereos rear speaker outputs. That's what I did for my subs today.

well, really loud music in the car can cause the same problem. Hearing emergency vehicles as well as other vehicles' horns is a consideration that I have taken into account. If I were to try something like this I'd be using headphones that allow sound to pass through - like the ones made for joggers and such...
